Chris Jones and Macarena Machado have joined the board of
Caerphilly-based Smoke Control Services as the company goes through a
period of continued growth.
An unstoppable demand for
high-rise apartment blocks in city and town centre developments all
over Britain has created opportunities for the company and its simple,
straightforward approach to the smoke control systems they need.
Chris
Jones runs the Smoke Control Services Project Division, with over
£2million worth of national contracts completed last year, and joins
the Board as Projects Director.
He began his career after
completing an apprenticeship with a large mechanical and electrical
contractor at the age of 17, and joined Smoke Control Services as a
Project Engineer in 2000. He was made Senior Project Engineer two years
ago, and has a particular role to build relationships with strategic
customers, mainly in the housebuilding industry.
The company
has a focused training and development programme for its key staff, and
Chris has completed a strategic leadership development programme,
Sustaining Profitable Growth, run by Telos Partners in association with
Cardiff University.
Macarena Machado has been promoted to
Operations Director after five years managing the service department
and developing a new e-commerce venture for the company’s best-selling
Easivent range of products.
Mac joined the company in 2001 as
Marketing Executive with a degree in Business Administration and an MA
in Marketing from the University of the West of England, and has also
been attending the Sustaining Profitable Growth course.
