SCS were approached by the consulting engineer, Evans Integrated Design, in October 1999. Their request was for SCS Group to report on the requirements with regard to smoke control in consultation with the Building Control Officer. This complies with current building regulations. SCS was able to provide an AOV smoke ventilation system, and systems to ventilate the basement lobbies as well as the basement car park.
SCS were appointed by St. George West London under a direct contract to supply, install, commission and demonstrate the complete system. SCS were involved with several of the buildings in the Charter Quay complex. The smoke ventilation systems installed included a natural extract, a powered extract and a hybrid pressurisation system. The system was installed to programme, and handed over to the Client (St. George) on time. Following the successful completion and handing over of the job, additional work was also gained on the same site for the area of apartments above the theatre.
